Breaking his silence over reservation policy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that romours were being spread that reservation system was under threat. Mr Modi said falsehood must stop that are terrorising society.

Mr Modi was speaking after laying the foundation stone of Dr Ambedkar Memorial at Indu Mills Compound in the heart of the city

The Prime Minister also announced that November 26, the day Constitution was adopted, will be observed as ‘Samvidhan Divas’ as a step towards spreading awareness about the life of its chief architect Dr B R Ambedkar. . He said his government has embarked on a project to develop five landmarks associated with the life of the architect of the Indian Constitution as “Panch teerths”– five holy places for millions to come and pay homage.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of 7,900-crore rupee fourth terminal at country’s largest container port – Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, situated off Mumbai’s eastern
seafront. The ambitious project will more than double the capacity of the port in next two years.

Mr Modi also laid foundation stone of two new Metro lines in Mumbai. The elevated Metro routes- Dahisar to D.N. Nagar and Andheri (East) to Dahisar (East) are expected to decongest public transport in the crowded western suburbs.
