India has said it will welcome any reduction in violence and cessation of hostilities in Syria. Replying to a query on the situation in Aleppo, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, protection of civilians should be the top priority.
He said India has always stood for Syria’s territorial integrity. Mr Swarup said, there can be no military solution to the conflict and the emphasis should be on an inclusive Syrian-led political dialogue.
