vice-president-ansariIndia will raise the issue of terrorism during the 17th Non Aligned Movement, NAM, Summit in Venezuela. While talking to media on board to Venezuela to attend the NAM Summit at Margarita Island, the Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari said both social and international peace are interrupted by terror and if population is terrorised then it cannot devote itself to its normal pursuits.

He said, therefore the issue of terrorism has to be taken up at this forum. Mr. Ansari stressing on the issue said, that each of the 120 countries of the movement has the same agenda of development but for that we need peace and solidarity.

According to Ministry of External Affairs the Summit is also expected to deliberate on issues of contemporary relevance and concern such as UN reform, the situation in West Asia, climate change and nuclear disarmament.

Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari is leading the Indian delegation at NAM summit to beld tomorrow and day after.
The summit will be preceded by deliberations at the Ministerial and Senior Official levels.

The NAM Summits are among the largest gathering of countries, after the United Nations.

India is one of the founding members of the Non Aligned Movement which came into being 55 years ago when leaders of 25 developing countries, including the then Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru met at the 1961 Belgrade Conference. The last NAM Summit was hosted by Iran in 2012.
