India stands firmly with France in hour of immense sadness PM Modi

India has strongly condemned the attack in French Riviera city of Nice and expressed sympathy over loss of innocent lives. President Pranab Mukherjee expressing shock to the news condemned the deadly attack.

He said, India stands shoulder to shoulder with the people and Government of France as it responds to this attack. Mr. Mukherjee said the Government will strengthen its cooperation with France and other countries in the fight against terrorism.

84 killed in terror attack at Nice in France

The Vice President of India, M. Hamid Ansari has also condemned the attack in Nice, France. He also referred to the incident during his remarks at the Plenary Session of the 11th ASEM Summit being held in Ulaanbaater, Mongolia today stating that India joined others in offering its condolences to the Government and people of France on yesterday’s happening.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet said, he is appalled by the horrific attack in Nice. Mr. Modi said his thoughts are with the families of deceased and India shares the pain and stands firmly with France in this hour of immense sadness.

US President Barack Obama has also condemned the deadly attack in Nice and offered any assistance France needs to investigate. Mr Obama in a statement said he condemns in the strongest terms what appears to be a horrific terrorist attack.

US Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump said on Twitter he postponed a news conference scheduled for today in New York to announce his running mate because of the attack.
