India today reiterated that there is no blockade in Nepal from its side. Replying to a question, MEA spokesperson said, a section of Nepalese population is opposed to certain provisions of the new Constitution and agitating which has lead to the blockade like situation.

He said, 2/3rd of supply to Nepal passes through Raxaul and Birganj check-posts which are closed due to the unrest in the Himalayan nation.

The External Affairs Ministry spokesperson also urged political parties in Nepal to address the concerns of Madhesi people so that situation could become normal.

He said, due to the unrest on the border Indian Oil Corporation is able to supply only 30 per cent of Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants.

The spokesperson said, India hopes the ongoing talks between Nepal government and Madhesi representatives would succeed and the issue would be resolved.
