No talks with Pakistan if they talk to Hurriyat and discuss anything other than ‘terror’

India is ready to give all help to Myanmar and is committed to strengthening its democratic institutions and socio-economic development of her people.

This was stated by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj during her meeting with State Counsellor and Foreign Minister Aung Sang Suu Kyi in Nay Pyi Daw today.

Sushma Swaraj said this was the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee. Suu Kyi thanked Sushma Swaraj for the support. She also called on President U Htin Kyaw.

Mrs Sushma Swaraj’s visit is the first high-level visit from India after Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy party came to power after winning a historic landslide election last year that finally brought an end to five decades of military rule.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, the visit reaffirms India’s commitment to heighten partnership with Myanmar in the areas of priority by the new government of Myanmar.
