The Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, has said that India is progressing towards domain jointness, as was seen during Operation Sindoor. He was speaking in Bengaluru today as part of the Ran Samvad tri-services forum on multi-domain operations. He emphasized that the three wings of the army, air force, and navy are moving towards domain integration and fusion when cybersecurity, space applications and information campaigns are part of one theatre command.

In a session addressed by the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, a case was put forward towards realising Multi-Dimensional Operations. The Navy Chief pointed out that their fleet of warships will function in an integrated manner. This includes an optimum mix of low-cost and high-end solutions with seamless linkages across different domains. He noted that future warfare demands integration of long-range precision strike capabilities along with kinetic and non-kinetic defence capabilities. He informed that they are pursuing augmentation of fleet capabilities with unproven and autonomous solutions in accordance with the Navy’s vision for unmanned systems. Integrating conventional with cyber and quantum technologies, robotics, AI and information dissemination across three services, he added, will enable faster decision-making and coordinated engagement. This second edition of Ran Samvad marks the beginning of a continued and structured dialogue on emerging paradigms of warfare, with the theme “Multi Domain Operations: An Imperative for Addressing Conventional and Irregular Threats”.
