NEW DELHI: One of the prominent Muslim organisation of the country Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) on Sunday criticised the central government for not allowing it to hold a rally in the national capital.

“The JIH lodges a strong protest against the curbing the freedom of the citizens of the country”, said Nusrat Ali, Secretary General of the organisation.

The permission of the rally was withdrawn at the last moment due to the US President’s visit here.

Addressing at the Conference on the ‘Save the Country from Poverty, Slavery and Lawlessness’ organised at Jamia Nagar, instead of rally a Ram Lila ground here. “How can one keep strategic relations and good relations with countries where even basic rights are not exercised”, he said adding India was moving towards enslavement of the imperialists’ powers.
“It is the duty of the government to provide the basic necessities of the citizens of the country”, he noted.

Expressing concern over the injustice to the youths Ali asked: “In the name of terrorism, numerous youths were behind bars who after years are acquitted with an apology, but what about their future. Whose responsibility is it”.

JIH urged the government to stop state terrorism due to which it said there was unrest across spectrum in the society.
