Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw underscored that with major advancements in 4G and 5G networks, semiconductor chips, and telecom equipment. He said this while participating in the Panch Parivartan programme organised in memory of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Shrikant Shankar Joshi in New Delhi today.

The Minister highlighted that the country’s manufacturing sector has grown substantially, with a strong focus on producing essential goods. He noted that just 11 years ago, 99 per cent of mobile phones were imported from abroad, whereas today, 99 per cent of them are being manufactured in India. He added that the country is now exporting telecom equipment to other nations.

Mr Vaishnaw said that with a 5,000-year-old cultural heritage, the spirit of Panch Parivartan is a refined expression of India’s enduring values. He said that India remained the world’s largest economic power for nearly 2,000 years since the beginning of organised economic activity. Emphasising that India must become Viksit Bharat by 2047, the Minister said that the country’s young population and technological advancements are poised to make India a significant player on the global stage.
