Union Finance and Information and Broadcasting Minister, Arun Jaitley has said that India has the huge potential to attract tourists around from across the world. He however said that there was a need to frame policies in such a way that help the industry in the future.

Speaking during the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new building of tourism ministry in New Delhi today, the Minister said country has the longest sea shore, huge forests, religious places and culture which have the capacity to attract tourists.

Mr Jaitley, however, maintained that there is also need to build more infrastructure specially airports so that tourists will travel frequently at various tourist places easily.

He also emphasized that India should increase its airline capacity from 5 to 10 percent to cater to more foreign tourist in the country. The minister also said, the industry is generating around 10 percent business opportunities in the world.
