Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said today that India is fully capable to counter the attacks of enemies. He claimed that because of strictness on borders with Pakistan and China the incidents of infiltration have decreased.
The Minister was in Hoshiarpur, Punjab to highlight the work done by NDA government in the last 2 years. He inaugurated a war memorial there. Union minister for social Justice and empowerment Vijay Sampla was also present on the occasion.
Mr Parikar informed that the ministry has issued a No Objection Certificate for opening a domestic airport at Adampur Airforce station and that the work will start soon after a meeting between Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Air India.
Doaba residents have been demanding domestic airport in Adampur for fairly long. 55 to 60 lakh people from the region are settled abroad and around 60,000 people from Doaba ned to fly every month.
