India today disapproved of report regarding religious tolerance in India by the US State Department.
Replying to a query in New Delhi this evening, External Affairs Minister spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, it is an internal report of the US administration.
Mr Swarup said, it is widely acknowledged that Indian Constitution guarantees equal religious, political and social rights to its every citizen including minorities.
The report on International Religious Freedom-2014, said, Indian authorities continued to enforce laws designed to protect religious sentiments which at times had the effect of limiting free expression related to religion.
It was submitted by US Secretary of State John Kerry to the Congress yesterday.
