INDIAN Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India-China partnership is important not only for the two countries, but for the entire region and the world. Mr Modi, while meeting the President of China, Xi Jinping ahead of G 20 Summit in Hangzhou today, said, both countries would have to be sensitive to each other’s aspirations, concerns and strategic interests.

He said, in order to promote positive convergences, negative perception needs to be prevented. This was disclosed by Spokesperson of the MEA, Vikas swarup to media after the meeting.

In response to a media query on issue of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the spokesperson said the issue did figure in the talks but he did not elaborate. He said, Prime Minister condemned the terror attack at Chinese Embassy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Mr Modi reiterated that response to terrorism must not be motivated by political considerations.
