India began their Men’s Doubles campaign on the 4th day of Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London today with a victory.
The Indo-New Zealand pair of Divij Sharan and Artem Sitak defeated duo of M.Jaziri and A.Albot 7-6, 6-7,6-3,6-2 in the Round of 64 to enter the quarter-final.
Divij Sharan is also scheduled to play a mixed double match later today. The team of Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and A.Krajaicek will begin their challenge at 7.25 p.m.
The team of N. Sriram Balaji and Vishnu Vardhan will begin their challenge at. 7.45 p.m. The duo of R.Bopanna and E.Roger Vasselin will begin their campaign at 9.40 p.m.
In the Singles, there was a big upset as Stan Warrinka lost to Thomas Fabbiano of Italy 6-7, 3-6, 6-7.
Rafael Nadal was leading Mikhail Kukushkin 6-4, 4-1 when reports last came in. Ashleigh Barty won her singles contest against Eugenie Bouchard. Naomi Osaka defeated K.Boulter 6-3, 6-4 to enter next round.
