India has unequivocally rejected Pakistan Cabinet decisions on the situation of Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said continuous glorification of terrorists belonging to banned terrorist organizations makes it amply clear where Pakistan’s sympathies are.
The spokesperson said, India is dismayed at Pakistan’s attempts to interfere in its internal matter, where Pakistan or any other external party has no locus standi.
He asked Pakistan to desist from interfering in India’s internal affairs and destabilizing situation in South Asia by supporting terrorism and other subversive acts. Mr Swarup expressed hope that Islamabad will respond to New Delhi’s initiatives for peace and normalizing the Indo-Pak relationship.
Mr Swarup said, the attempts in Pakistan by various players to integrate themselves to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the run up to the so called elections in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir will not succeed.
The Pakistani Cabinet on Friday decided for convening a joint session of Parliament on Kashmir situation and announced to mark July 19 as ‘black day’ against killing of innocent Kashmiris allegedly by security forces Jammu and Kashmir.
A declaration, issued after the meeting held at Lahore’s Governor’s House, said Pakistan would continue to provide moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris in their just struggle for self-determination.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in his remarks while chairing the meeting urged upon the United Nations to fulfill
its “incomplete agenda” on Kashmir and ensure provision of right of self-determination to Kashmiris.
