Reject associating terrorism with any religion

India and Arab League have condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestation. They have also rejected associating terrorism with any religion, culture and ethnic group.

This Declaration was released after India- Arab League First Ministerial Meeting in Manama, Baharain today. The in the Manama Declaration, the two sides emphasised the concerted regional and international efforts to combat terrorism.The two sides stressed on the need to develop a strategy to eliminate the sources of terrorism and extremism including its funding as well as combating organised cross-borders crimes.

They also supported the efforts of UN Counter Terrorism Committee and adoption of comprehensive convention on international terrorism at the earliest.

Earlier, in her address at the Ministerial Meeting at Manama, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, India has paid special attention to its ties with Arab world.

She said,India is ready to partner with Countries of Arab League in areas like Information and Communication Technologies, Automobiles, Small and Medium Enterprises, Biotechnology and Space. Mrs Swaraj said, the sovereign wealth funds of Gulf Countries can be profitably invested in India’s burgeoning infrastructure sector.
