Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today ruled out any big alliance, ‘mahajoot’ of like-minded parties in the forthcoming assembly election in the state. He however hinted at ‘maha understanding’ among all parties to defeat ‘communal forces’.

“Fight is not individual Modi but definitely his policy. I am talking about ideology. I am going to fight Modi’s ideology,” he said adding that those who are opposed to communal party must come to an understanding.

Understanding means no seat sharing, “What I mean alliance no seat sharing but aim should be same to defeat the BJP said Chief Minister at the meet the press organized by the Press Club of India.

“BJP is expert in misleading the people. Anti-incumbency to some extend is there but I have never said that no incumbency but my development work will override. Last election also we fought Modi in spite of the Modi wave. It is not because of Modi’s presence”, he said.

“We are not looking for alliance with anybody. I going to submit facts and figures through a white paper about developments that have taken place Then I am going to ask BJP to give their own records. The records will tell” CM said.

Himanta Biswa Sarma’s departure has helped us and he will cause more damage to the BJP because he causes harm. New leader even Sonowal is not an original BJP but AGP fellow.

Every election, particularly my opponent always the raises the issue of foreigners. But the moment they come to power they forget. They raise foreigners issue before elections and forget foreigners after elections, he said.

Third time, your popularity does not grow but Assam was an exception. But in 2009 we got 79 seats which is more than what we got in 2001.

So there is no question of anti-incumbency. It arises when there is a failure in fulfilling promises . This time same question has been raised. Some are there but if the people see the progress of the State, if they have complete confidence in the leadership, then definitely it is very easy to overcome anti-incumbency.

“I can prove with fact and figure that Assam is developing. Government of India’s figures we are number six in the country in terms of GDP growth rate. All sorts of propaganda has been going on against us including the Prime Minister. He has become so shaky that he made a big allegation against Dr Manmohan Singh and against me. He asked what Manmohan Singh and Gogoi did in last 15 years. He said that he thought that all problems have been solved. But Narendra Modi was also Chief Minister of Gujarat for may be 15 years or more. Has all
the problems of Gujarat been solved?” asked Gagoi.

Over 40000 SMEs have shut down in Gujarat and they are now agitating. Why BJP lost panchayat election, why farmers committed suicide. That means farmers are unahappy and middle level people are unhappy.

Modi raises high hopes and people did believe that he could bring drastic change. It is a fact that people of India by and large hope and believe that he is the only man who could bring drastic change.

But instead of concentrating more on internal affairs he started concentrating more on foreign affairs, as if Indian problems have been solved. Foreign affairs success depends on success on internal affairs. If you can manage social-economic-political situation automatically the country will earn the respect there is no need for
propaganda.

Yes you need some relation, no other Primne Minister since the days of Nehru, who spend so much of tie instead of meeting our local people, he prefers to meet NRIs and CEOs only.

In Assam if I can’t deliver what respect we can earn outsider. You can’t have so many voices making so many diverse opinion. Same thing in Assam also, he went to the State and he started blaming the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. I have never seen one Prime Minister completely blaming his predecessor. It is a grave departure, which is not based on facts.

He is absolutely wrong. Now he is going to Assam to inaugurate Gas Cracker project, which is the biggest public sector undertaking in the North-east and it was gift of Manmohan Singh.
