Allahabad High Court has asked Uttar Pradesh Government to issue appointment letters to selected 29,334 teachers by 14th September. These teachers have been selected for upper primary government schools for Mathematics and Science. The High Court has issued this order Friday while hearing a PIL.

Principal Secretary for Basic Education Hira Lal Gupta and Secretary Basic Education Board who were present in the court assured the bench that the letter of appointment will be issued by 14th September.

A single judge bench of Justice Ranvijay Singh said that if government fails to issue appointment letter by the said date then both the officers should present before court on 15th September and court will fix charges of contempt against them.

Recently Allahabad High Court had passed a path breaking order that all government officers, peoples representatives and other state beneficiaries send their wards to government schools only then the school education system would be improved. While passing of this order one of the reason was also lack of teachers in primary and upper primary schools run by state basic education board.
