24 kg heroin recovered in Punjab, four heldA joint team of Border Security Force and Customs officials recovered 23 kilogram heroin worth 115 crore rupess in the international market at Tehkala border outpost of Amritsar sector. BSF Deputy Inspector General of Punjab Frontier RS Kataria said that the joint team during a special operation late Thursday night observed some people throwing packets from the other side of the border. He said when challenged, they attacked the jawans, who fired in self-defence. The smugglers then fled the spot.

The jawans searched the place and seized 23 packets of heroin, each containing one kg of the drug, valuing 115 crore rupess in international market and a mobile phone with Pakistani SIM card was recovered form there.
