monsoon by NDCyclonic storm – Komen – will hit the Bangladesh coast this afternoon, bringing with it heavy rainfall in Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha. Komen currently lies 300 kilometres east-southeast of Kolkata. The Met Department said, after making landfall in Bangladesh, it will move west-north-westwards and weaken gradually. IMD’s Cyclone Warning Division in New Delhi said rainfall would occur at most places, with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and extremely heavy at isolated places over West Bengal and Odisha today and tomorrow and heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places on Saturday. Jharkhand will also witness heavy to very heavy rains on these days.
