Heads of mission and foreign diplomats of 70 countries Saturday visited Prayagraj (Allahabad) and over viewed ongoing preparations of Kumbh Mela.
Foreign diplomats including Islamic countries accompanied by Minister of state for external affairs VK Singh were apprised about crowd management and control of largest human congregation on the Earth.
“In a special ceremony, MoS Gen V K Singh along with Heads of Missions of over 70 countries participated at Kumbh2019 collectively hoisted their nations’ flags at PrayagrajKumbh. These would be displayed during the entire duration of the Mela,” said MEA Spokespaersn Ravish Kumar.
The delegates from these countries also visited Integrated Control and Command Centre, Swachh Kumbh related exhibition at Sangam area. To promote global branding of Kumbh 2019 and explore possibilities tourism this initiative was taken by Centre and the State government.
A colossal gathering of 10 to 12 crore people is expected in this kumbh, which would commence from January 15 and will end on March 4, 2019.
