The court also asked the CBI to file a status report detailing the stage of investigation and the judicial proceedings in the case on the next date of hearing. The court has asked notice to be issued to the CBI for the May 30.
Daughter of DMK Supremo M Karunanidhi, Kanimozhi and Sharad Kumar had approached the high court on Monday with their bail applications after the special CBI court ordered their arrest on the May 20.
Both of them were named in the CBI charge sheet for allegedly receiving a kick back to tune of Rs 200 crore.
Meanwhile, Cineyug Films Pvt Ltd Director Karim Morani, an accused in the 2G spectrum case, appeared before the Special CBI court and filed his regular bail application.
Judge O P Saini took Morani’s bail plea into record and listed the matter for arguments on May 26.
The court had on Monday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Morani and had directed him to appear before it on Tuesday.
