The government of India has cautioned Hajj Pilgrims not to fall prey to the misleading advertisements promising arrangements for different types of facilities.The advice of Minority Affairs Ministry came in the wake of instances of misleading advertisements by unscrupulous elements saying that they have got Hajj quota from the Ministry.
The Ministry has clarified that 45 thousand Hajj seats have been allocated among 569 private tour operators for Hajj 2017 and the list is available at this Ministry’s website at www.minorityaffairs.gov.in. and www.haj.gov.in. The Ministry advised the people and intending Hajj pilgrims to check the website and also make necessary enquiries to avoid incidents of cheating.
” It is clarified that 45000 Haj seats have been allocated among 569 PTOs for Haj 2017. The list of such PTOs is available at this ministry’s website at www.minorityaffairs.gov.in. and www.haj.gov.in. The general public and intending Haj pilgrims desirous of availing the services of PTOs for Haj 2017 are hereby advised to check the above website and also make necessary enquiries and take precautions before engaging a PTO in order to avoid incidents of cheating by unscrupulous elements” ministry said in a statement.
