Union Health Minister J P Nadda today launched Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan in New Delhi to improve health care facilities for pregnant women.
Under the scheme, pregnant ladies will be given free health check-up and required treatment free of cost on 9th of every month. The scheme will be applicable for pregnant women in all Government hospitals across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nadda said, urged doctors of private hospitals to visit government hospitals for routine check up of prospective mothers. He requested the media to publicized the initiative so that large number of women can get benefits. On the occasion, the Health Minister launched a a web portal and also a mobile app on the safe motherhood.
