External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will brief Floor Leaders of Political Parties on the present situation in Afghanistan tomorrow at Parliament House Annexe in New Delhi. The Minister said in a tweet that in view of developments in Afghanistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has instructed that he brief Floor Leaders of political parties.

Over 600 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan till now. India evacuated the people on several flights from Kabul, Dushanbe and Doha. The mission to evacuate people from Kabul has been named as “Operation Devi Shakti”.

The External Affairs Ministry has said that owing to the prevailing security situation in Afghanistan and streamlining of the visa process by introduction of the e-Emergency X-Misc visa, all Afghan nationals must now travel to India only on e-Visa. It said that keeping in view some reports that certain passports of Afghan nationals have been misplaced, previously issued visas to all Afghan nationals, who are presently not in India, stand invalidated with immediate effect. Afghan nationals wishing to travel to India may apply for e-Visa at www.indianvisaonline.gov.in.
