The Government is promoting organic farming using organic manure through the schemes of Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) in all the states other than the North Eastern States and Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) exclusively in the northeast states.
Informing the Lok Sabha through a written reply today, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ramnath Thakur said under the PKVY scheme, farmers are provided financial assistance of 15 thousand rupees per hectare for three years for on-farm and off-farm organic inputs including organic manure.
The Minister said, that under the MOVCDNER scheme, farmers are directly provided financial assistance of 32 thousand 500 rupees per hectare for three years for off-farm and on-farm organic inputs. Mr Thakur also said the government is promoting the use of bio-fertilisers which are effective and eco-friendly sources of nutrients.
