In order to promote tourism in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, Union Minister Narayan Rane has ordered the Konkan Railway Administration to prepare a plan and budget within the next three months to start a mini train that will transport tourists along the coastal route.

On Monday, Union Minister Narayan Rane held a meeting of district officials at Sindhudurg District Collector’s Office, in this regard. He said, taking into account the scope for tourism development in the district, a mini train running along the sea coast in the district as well as the land required for its route should be prepared in the next three months by the district collector, tehsil and senior railway officials. Rane has given orders to prepare the plan of this mini train from Nandgaon to Devgad then Malvan, Vengurla then Sawantwadi again Kudal Kankavali and back to Nandgaon.
