Welfare party of India WPI has expressed it deep condolences to families of soldiers martyred during skirmish with Chinese PLA. At the same time it demanded answers from the government on deteriorating relations with neighbours.

Dr SQR Ilyas National President of Welfare Party of India in a press statement expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved families of the 20 brave soldiers who were killed in a face off clash with the Chinese army at LAC.

He said these clashes between Indian and Chinese troops, which he described as a worst flare up in 45 years are alleged to have taken place after attempt was made to unilaterally change the status quo in the Galwan Valley in the LAC area.

He demanded answers from Modi government to take the nation in confidence and reveal the truth on actual facts that resulted in this violent shirmishes and pointed out at the sour relations we as a country have with all our immediate neighbouring countries, and demanded the government to explain our foreign policy.

Dr Ilyas said this matter has serious ramifications on the world peace, while both sides have suffered casualties which could have been avoided with bilateral talks, and demanded answers from the governments on the present situation, especially when the process of de-escalation was in progress.

He expressed shock at the horrific death of soldiers and urged the governments to refrain from making provocative speeches but resolve this issue through dialogue and consultation and make efforts for easing the situation and upholding peace and security along the border area especially during such pressing times of Covid pandemic and a global recession & urged them to work towards peace and sustainable developmental goals.
