Global gold prices rose over 1 percent this week to near a record high, as uncertainty surrounding the US election and simmering tensions in West Asia region boosted its appeal. Gold prices ended the week at 2,721 dollars per ounce. Silver prices also rose to end the week at 33.72 dollars per ounce.
