Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several national highway projects at Roing in Lower Dibang Valley District.
The Minister also inaugurated two bridges over the Lohit and Dibang River.
Addressing public after the inauguration of the bridges, Mr. Gadkari said that Road infrastructure works are progressing very fast in Arunachal. He said before the Modi government came to power, the length of National Highway in the state was 1804 KM and now in 2018 it is 2885 KM.
The minister informed that road projects worth 28,000 crore are going in Arunachal Pradesh alone.
The Minister also said that his department has done works worth Ten Lakh Crores and every project was cleared and done in a very transparent, time-bound and result oriented way without any corruption.
Mr. Gadkari further said that in Arunachal Pradesh bamboo is abundantly found and with this resource, the state can become a Bio-fuel hub in the future. He said this will help reduce unemployment and increase farmers’ income.
Later in a separate function in Ziro, Mr.Gadkari laid the foundation for 472 km of national highways costing Rs 5583.92 Crore in Lower Subansiri District.
Mr. Gadkari is being accompanied by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju.
