Sounding a note of caution against rumour-mongers, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today urged the countrymen to show patience and not to pay heed to rumours to avert any further untoward incident over the Bhola issue.
“I ask the countrymen to have patience (over the Bhola issue) as a section of people is out to orchestrate propaganda using the Facebook to create an unstable situation” she said.

At least four people were killed in clashes with police that erupted after a derogatory post on Facebook in Borhanuddin Upazila of Bhola district in Bangladesh today. Over 50 people are reported to be injured in the clashes.
People of the area came out in large number to protest after the post went viral on social media. While the police were trying to control the crowd which wanted to vent its anger out on the minority community and their properties, some people started pelting stone on the police.
SP of Bhola district today said that the Facebook account was hacked and the person from the minority community had lodged a complaint with the police on Saturday about the hacking. The persons who hacked his account also asked for ransom from him. Persons linked to hacking and posting of the derogatory content have been arrested.
Four platoons of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed in Borhanuddin Upazila area since this evening to maintain law and order there.
