Assam Rifles has said that five men belonging to Khaplang faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) have been arrested during search operations at different places during the past two days. It said, those nabbed were involved in the June 4 ambush in which 18 soldiers were killed during an attack on their convoy. An Assam Riffles release said that arrested persons have been handed over to the NIA for further investigations. Suspected NSCN-K militants on June 4 killed 18 Assam Rifles jawans and left four injured.
