In an innovative and pragmatic idea, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao Thursday suggested that every state should be allowed to have its own reservation policy.

Speaking at the India Today Conclave South 2018, the Chief Minister said the cap on total reservation of 50 per cent imposed by the Supreme Court should be raised further and the Centre should understand this.

He also said the TRS will raise the issue and launch a big fight over reservation issue in the ensuing budget session of Parliament.

CM Rao also said that any chief minister should maintain a cordial relationship with the Centre. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has talked about cooperative federalism but he is implementing it “partially”.
