Suspected cases of Encephalitis have been reported from new areas like Begusarai and Samastipur in Bihar. In the last 24 hours 15 deaths have been reported from Muzaffarpur and adjoining areas out of which 2 deaths have been reported from Begusarai district.
The death toll has risen to 75 this summer season due to encephalitis. 35 children were admitted to SKMCH and 6 in Kejriwal Hospital in Muzaffarpur yesterday. As many as 12 districts of the state are affected by this disease.
State Health Minister Mangal Pandey on Friday said advisory has been issued in the affected areas so that children get proper treatment when symptoms of the disease are detected. He said Union Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan has assured all possible help to the state to tackle the disease.
