Elaborate arrangements have been made for the first phase of assembly elections in Bihar to be held Monday. More than one lakh 20 thousand jawans of central para military forces have been deployed to ensure free and fair polls. 49 constituencies spread over 10 districts will go to polls in this phase. Over one crore 35 lakhs voters will decide the electoral fortune of 583 candidates including 54 women. Bihar chief electoral Officer Ajay Nayak said a special arrangement has been made in the naxal infested areas.

The districts that will go to polls in the first phase are Samastipur, Begusarai, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Nawada and Jamui. AIR Correspondent reports that out of these districts five are naxal affected.
