Eight Muslim candidates have been elected for Rajasthan Assembly, while only two candidates from the community managed to win in Madhya Pradesh. In Rajasthan among eight winners – seven are from Congress. One is from BSP. In the 2013 Assembly polls, only two Muslims could win – both were from BJP. Congress had fielded 15 Muslim candidates for the Assembly polls in Rajasthan.
BJP had fielded only one Muslim candidate this time – that too against Congress state president Sachin Pilot. The BJP candidate has lost.
In Madhya Pradesh Arif Aqueel and Arif Masood of Congress have won the elections. Masarrat Shahid lost the electoral battle in Sironj. Aqueel, Masood and Masrrat are just 03 Muslim candidates fileded by the Congress party in MP.
