Enforcement Directorate, ED today summoned Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to appear before it in connection with the money laundering probe against him. Earlier, the agency had filed the case under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, PMLA after taking cognisance of a criminal complaint filed by the CBI in this regard in September this year.
The agency is investigating the allegation that Singh and his family members allegedly amassed wealth of over six crore rupees between 2009-11, disproportionate to his known sources of income, while serving as the Union Minister of Steel.
