State Election department in Assam has urged the Election Commission to deploy 76 General Observers in the wake of assembly polls. The Chief Electoral Officer Vijendrya said that along with general observers, 46 number of expenditure observers are likely to be deputed in Assam.
He said that as of now, no incident of violation of Model Code of Conduct has been reported. The CEO further said that minimum three numbers of Flying Squad and Static Surveillance Squad have been deployed in each constituency. Assam has a total of 126 assembly constituencies. Polling will be held in Assam on 4th and 11th of April in two phases.
