Delhi Minorities Commission (DMC) has issued a notice to Jamia Millia and Delhi Waqf Board asking them who is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the grave of the great freedom fighter and a former chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia, Hakim Ajmal Khan. It asked them as what is being done to address the current state of the grave of the great physician.

It may be recalled that Volunteers of Khudai Khidmatgar have brought to the notice of Delhi Minorities Commission that the grave of the great freedom fighter Hakim Ajmal Khan, is in a very bad condition which is a matter of shame for the country and the Muslim community.

This grave is situated in Naiwalan, Qarol Bagh in what used to be the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia before Independence and apparently the land still legally belongs to the Jamia Millia.

The grave is in a shambles. One family reportedly has occupied the land adjacent to the grave and constructed home No one from the government, Jamia or the Waqf Board ever bothered to protect it.
