Gujarat High Court has refused to grant any interim relief to Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi in the defamation case over his Modi Surname remarks. The bench of Justice Hemant Prachchak heard the matter today and decided to pronounce the final verdict post-summer vacation.
Mr. Gandhi had moved to the High Court to suspend his conviction and two-year jail term in the criminal defamation case. Gandhi was disqualified as a member of parliament after the Surat trial court sentenced him to two years in jail in the criminal defamation case.
