The number of Indian pilgrims who died in the stampede in Saudi Arabia during Hajj has risen to 22.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, in a tweet, today said that some more bodies are to be identified.
She said the Ministry is facilitating visits of the relatives of missing pilgrims and tour operators for identification.
The stampede on Thursday at Mina in Saudi Arabia has claimed 717 lives and left 863 people injured. Two million pilgrims from 180 countries were taking part in the Haj when the incident took place.
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman has ordered a safety review of the Haj pilgrimage after the tragedy. A commission to investigate the stampede has also been formed by the Saudi government.
