Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has said that in view of the WHO’s warning that COVID-19 cases will be on rise in coming days, the State Government has decided to provide 80 per cent oxygen cylinders to hospitals and 20 per cent to industries in a centralized manner. He also informed that the State Government is creating a large number of health facilities to tackle the pandemic.
The Maharashtra Government has announced that it is to conduct a statewide door-to-door campaign from September 15. CM Thackeray stated that the Health Department will launch the campaign in two phases, one from September 15 to October 10 and second from October 12 to October 24.
The goal of the campaign is to push the volunteers who are to impart health education to the citizens, besides conducting door-to-door meetings during which they will check the body temperatures of people along with the oxygen levels, besides other symptoms, including tiredness, throat pain/dry cough, diarrhoea, and loss of smell and taste. On the other hand, they are also to check for co-morbidities and are to advise an appropriate treatment for it. The CM emphasized that the agencies should make efforts to increase the credibility in the minds of people towards the health facilities provided by the government.
