Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that better coordination among various departments and enhanced surveillance can help in bringing down the death rate due to Japanese Encephalitis (JE) and Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES).
Mr. Adityanath was chairing a review meet on Communicable diseases, JE, AES and Covid19 in BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur today.
He said that campaigns should be run to make people aware of the role of cleanliness in eliminating JE and AES. Laying stress on the sanitisation, Mr. Adityanath said that schemes for providing clean drinking water must be implemented thoroughly.
He said that local administrative officers must pay visit to the villages reporting JE/AES cases and cleanliness drive must be undertaken in such areas along with encouraging people to use boiled water for drinking.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the current situation of Covid19 in Gorakhpur and Basti Zones.
He said that Covid Help Desks must be established in all departments in the state and proper screening of the visiting persons must be carried out.
