Goa Rural Development Minister Francisco alias Mickky Pacheco, who is facing six month jail term, today submitted his resignation to Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar. Goa Vikas Party General Secretary Lyndon Monteiro confirmed about Mickky Pacheco’s resignation from cabinet. The sources in the Chief Minister office said, Goa Chief Minister has accepted the resignation and sent it to the Governor.

The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed special leave petition filed by Mickky Pacheco against the verdict of Goa Bench of Bombay High Court, in a case of assaulting a Government Servant in 2006.

MLA from Nuvem constituency form South Goa, Pacheco is the chief of the Goa Vikas Party, who is a partner in the state’s ruling coalition headed by the BJP. He was sworn in as minister in a cabinet expansion in November last year.
