Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Kalikho Pul has won the floor test with the support of 40 MLAs in the House having an effective strength of 58.

The newly sworn-in Kalikho Pul government faced a test of its strength in assembly today.

Ahead of today’s Confidence vote, Chief Minister Pul received a shot in the arm as eight MLAs, earlier believed to be loyalists of previous Nabam Tuki government, extended their support to him yesterday.

Dissident Congress leader Pul was sworn-in as the eighth chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday after over three months of political instability.

The President’s rule was imposed in the state on January 26. It was lifted on February 19.
