The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has declared a nationwide demonstration for July 24, pressing forward with its ongoing demand for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to step down in the wake of the NEET-UG examination controversy.
This call to action arrives despite repeated assurances from the government, which has pledged to address the paper leak issue and invited protesters for discussions.
Standing in Solidarity with Students
The CJP stated that the primary objective of the nationwide protest is to express solidarity with individuals who reportedly faced police action and brutality during recent student-led demonstrations.
- Coalition Effort: The group has called upon various student bodies and civic organizations to collaborate on logistics and secure necessary official permissions.
- Amplifying Demands: Participants are instructed to publicly read out the core demands of the student community during public gatherings.
Maintaining Peace and Discipline
Emphasizing non-violence, the CJP urged all demonstrators to conduct themselves peacefully.
- Approved Slogans: Participants have been advised to keep morale high using only inclusive and positive slogans, such as “Jai Hind,” “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” “Inquilab Zindabad,” and “Jai Bhim.”
- Documentation: The organizers also encouraged attendees to record proceedings throughout the protest.
Code of Conduct for Protesters
To ensure safety and order, the CJP outlined strict guidelines for all attendees:
- Remain strictly within designated protest zones and authorized routes.
- Strictly avoid provocative, defamatory, communal, or hate speech.
- Travel and stay in small groups of two or three.
- Refrain from carrying any weapons, including sticks or poles.
- Keep pathways clear by avoiding road blockades and traffic disruptions.
- Do not circulate unverified information or fake news.
Essential Safety Preparations
As a precautionary measure, the CJP issued a safety advisory for participants:
- Emergency Identification: Protesters are advised to write the contact details of an emergency contact and a lawyer (or law student) clearly on their forearm using a marker, and to carry a card with the same information in their pocket.
- Backup Plan: The group noted that phones can easily malfunction, get damaged, or lose battery during demonstrations, making physical written notes vital for emergencies.
Vigilance and Conflict Avoidance
The party instructed demonstrators to stay alert, report any misconduct or suspicious behavior via social media, and seek immediate assistance from nearby peers if required. Furthermore, participants were cautioned against reacting to provocations, advising them instead to stay calm, maintain peace, and immediately notify designated protest marshals.
