GUWAHATI: (AMN) Home Minister, P Chidambaram on Friday had a close-door meeting with the Unified Command at the BSF headquarter at Patgaon. He convened the meeting immediately after reaching here. Chidambaram arrived here on a short visit to review the law and order situation in Assam in the wake of the latest killing of at least 24 innocent people by militants in five districts of the State.
The meeting lasted for around one and a half hour. Top Army, Paramilitary, Intelligence and State police officials were present in the meeting. It is understood that the meeting mainly discussed on operational strategies to capture the NDFB militants hiding in the dense forest areas along Assam-Arunachal Pradesh and Bhutan boundaries. It has also been equally stressed on bringing the militants to the negotiation table.
