The senior Congress leader P Chidambaram has said there were no allegations against him in giving Foreign Investment Promotion Board FIPB permissions during his tenure as the Union Finance Minister under the UPA government.
Following the CBI raids in his premises in Chennai that is going on since this morning, he has issued a statement saying, foreign investment proposals are processed by five Secretaries who are members of the FIPB and approvals are given or denied in accordance with the Board’s recommendations.
He has blamed that the Central Government is targeting his son and his friends using the CBI and ther agencies. He has charged that the raids are aimed at silencing him.
