Chhattisgarh government has decided to release more than 134 crore rupees as compensation for the drought- affected farmers in the state. Barring Balodabazar and Sarguja districts, farmers from the remaining 25 drought-hit districts will be given compensation for the loss of crop due to drought.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh directed all district collectors to ensure timely distribution of relief and compensation to the farmers affected by the drought.
