Centre has decided to invest more than fifty thousand crore rupees for the development of Roads and National Highways in the next two years. While addressing a function after Award of Sanctions of road projects worth 25 thousand crore rupees by Centre to Rajasthan at Jaipur Yesterday Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari said these projects are for the development of roads under Bharatmala and PPP scheme.

Mr Gadkari said it is the country’s need to produce ethanol, bio-diesel, bio-CNG from toilet waste. He said the conversion of waste into energy and conversion of knowledge into wealth should be a formula for Make in India mission which Prime Minister launched. Union Minister said the country’s first Highway Village would be set up in Chittorgarh district which would provide jobs to 300 youths.

He said the Chittorgarh village would have amenities like restaurant, handicraft shops, fruit bar, petrol pump, entertainment, facilities for truck drivers and toilets connected to gas conversion plants. Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said infrastructure development is an essential for development of state.

She said state has launched ambitious programme of developing 20 thousand kilometre of state highways and major district roads on PPP basis. Mr Gadkari also launched the Resurgent Rajasthan mobile app which will provide an overview of the advantages, investment opportunities and enabling policies the state offers to investors.
